Introduction to Growing Fruit and Vegetables in a Container





We are delighted to announce that we will be holding an Introduction to Growing Fruit and Vegetables in a Container on Saturday 13th April from 2 pm-4 pm. This is a free session and will be held at Nature's Haven garden site at the Maidenhead Community Centre, 4 Marlow Road, Maidenhead, SL6 7HY.

 

Duration: 2 hours

 

What to bring with you:

  • Gardening gloves

  • A trowel if you have one (if not, we have some on site)

  • Dress for the weather

  • A water bottle and snack

  • We will provide a container, soil, and plantlet for you to take home, nurture and enjoy

 

What will we cover?

  • Types of containers for your style and requirements

  • Crop selection and suitability for your site

  • Composition and grouping

  • Soil types, feeding and care

 

What will I achieve? By the end of this workshop you should be able to . . .

  • Recognise suitable containers for different plants needs

  • List suitable plants for different planting conditions, sun/shade

  • Understand soil types and plant feeds  

What level is the workshop and do I need any particular skills?

This is a beginners’ workshop and no previous experience is necessary. It is a good introduction to our Sow, Grow, Eat . . . Repeat programme.
